CREATION CONTEST/BBI 2002 The Belluard Bollwerk International is an artistic event since 1983. It produces and presents, in Fribourg (CH), novelty projects in all fields of contemporary creation. Since the year 2000, the BBI organizes a creation contest each and every year. During the 2002 edition, the BBI invites all interested parties to face the following theme : UNFORSEEABLE The BBI is looking for pertinent, audacious and committed novelty projects. Any forms, methods or means serving the project s purpose are admitted. The space and time allowed for the project s presentation is to be determined according to its nature. Each laureate project chosen by an international jury shall be helped out by the BBI up to the sum of CHF 10 000.- (≈ 7000 Euro), at the very most. Participants are free to take any steps he/she deems necessary to acquire additional funding from public authorities or firms so as to complete their budgets. The awarded projects shall be supported by the BBI (organization, distribution, promotion) in the 2002 programming starting the 5th of July and ending on the 13th of July 2002, and proposed to the festival’s international partners. Rules : 1. The contest is open to all. 2. Each project is to be presented on 2 A4-format pages, at most. The presentation text describes the concept, goals and the means required for realization as well as well as the space and time needed. A detailed budget shall be included. Plans, drawings, photos, videos, recordings... may be sent as well. 3. Projects must be sent the 28.01.2002, at the latest (postal stamp is proof) at Belluard Bollwerk International, Contest 2002, PO Box 120, CH - 1701 Fribourg. 4. The international jury, in charge of evaluating the projects, is made up of the following personalities: BBI (1 member of the artistic committee) – Jean-Marc Chapoulie (curator, Biennale de Lyon 2001, Le Grand Album, Châlon-sur-Saône) - Klaus Hersche (director of Les Subsistances, Lyon) – Küde Meier (director Forum Claque – das Kunstlabor, Baden) - Jean Nicole (journalist, RSR Espace 2, Lausanne) - Olivier Suter (director of BBI). 5. All participants shall be made aware of the results by February 15th, 2002. 6. If possible, the projects chosen by the jury shall be realized during the 2002 BBI (5. - 13.7.2002).
